Welcome to SitiGirl Louisville

Introducing the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Mariette Wade, PhDs, hc.

Steve Harvey said ships are safe when they are in port but that’s not what ships are built for. You are built to sail. You are built to be in rough water. You are built to go far. You are not built to stay in port.

Two years ago, I took the leap and became the Editor-In-Chief of SitiGirl Cincinnati. I had always dreamed of having my own magazine. I said to myself, “Whew!!! I’m finally gonna put this journalism and mass communication degree to work!” What started a capstone project in Wilson Hall at Murray State University while I was obtaining my Master’s degree in Mass Communication was now a reality.

With two years under my belt and fresh off of being named the 2024 EIC of the year of the Siti Girl Magazine franchise, I felt ready to expand my horizon and get back to my roots. I took another leap and now I am able to proudly introduce you to SitiGirl Louisville. You see I was born and raised at 201 Elk St in Elkton, KY. No matter where I go in this world, I will never forget the place that laid the very foundation of who I am.

I humbly invite you on the SitiGirl Louisville journey. Get ready to be inspired. Get ready to set sail. You are not meant to stay bound to your past hurts, disappointments and insecurities. You are built for more than that. You my friend are built to sail. Will there be trouble in the water? Absolutely! But if you stay in port you will never experience the life you are meant to live. So let’s set a time to leave the port and begin the rest of our lives.
